Overview
We are looking to hire a Senior Data Engineer for one of our most strategic and high-visibility projects: Santander's global dashboarding initiative. The selected candidate will join a cutting-edge multicloud environment, actively participating in the design, development, and optimization of data platforms focused on advanced analytics and Business Intelligence at a global scale.
The position offers a hybrid work model based in Madrid, with continuous collaboration alongside multidisciplinary teams (Data Engineering, BI, Analytics, Architecture, and Business) in a demanding, dynamic, and high-performance environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain data models (logical, physical, and dimensional) aligned with business needs and corporate standards.
- Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines between Google BigQuery and the Azure platform.
- Define and evolve the Lakehouse architecture on ADLS Gen2, ensuring scalability, performance, and governance.
- Implement and manage security, access control, and identity management through Azure Active Directory and Key Vault.
- Optimize datasets for efficient consumption in Power BI and other advanced analytics environments.
- Design and develop visualizations and dashboards in Power BI, applying best practices in semantic modeling, DAX, and user-centered design.
- Collaborate in defining visualization, performance, and usability standards for global reporting.
- Work closely with BI and Analytics teams to ensure proper data utilization in global dashboards.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in data quality, performance, and maintainability.
Qualifications
- 3 years of professional experience in data engineering.
- Advanced expertise in Azure Data Platform (Databricks, ADLS Gen2, Azure Storage, Key Vault, AAD).
- Solid experience with Google BigQuery in production environments.
- Strong knowledge of data model design in Lakehouse architectures.
- Advanced proficiency in Spark, Python, and SQL.
- Proven experience with CI/CD and version control (Git, ALM, Nexus, or equivalent tools).
- B2 English level to be evaluated by Talent Acquisition Team.
Bonus Points
- Have experience optimizing data for Power BI consumption.
- Demonstrated experience developing semantic models, DAX measures, and advanced visualizations in Power BI.
